Definition - What does Mommy Makeover mean?
A Mommy Makeover is a term used to describe a suite of procedures a woman may undergo after child-birth to get her body back into pre-baby shape. It can include just about any parts of the body, but those most commonly addressed with a Mommy Makeover include the breasts, the lower abs and waist, and the butt.
TheConsultation explains Mommy Makeover
While the Mommy Makeover is generally made up of multiple procedures, they are often completed in the same surgery. However, in some cases, the surgeries may be spread out to allow for recovery time. Some of the most common procedures done as part of this plan include a breast lift or augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction and butt augmentation. The Mommy Makeover isn’t a scientific or medical term. It’s a term that has been created by marketing and media to describe what often happens when a woman decides to have surgery to improve her body after having one or more children. While the recovery process may vary based on which procedures were included in the Mommy Makeover, the first few days are usually the most painful. A surgeon will discuss the process and procedure options so they can come up with a treatment plan. Each Mommy Makeover is customized to the individual with only the procedures determined to be necessary to meet the goals of the patient. A surgeon won’t perform this procedure until at least six months after a woman gives birth. The patient will also need to be in good health and be at a healthy weight. It can take several months to heal and see the final results of these surgeries.
