Definition - What does Scar Removal mean?
Scar removal is the process of reducing the appearance of scars on the face or body. The location and the severity of the scar will determine the treatment method and expected results.
TheConsultation explains Scar Removal
There are three types of scar removal techniques that include topical creams, minimally invasive procedures, and surgical procedures. Generally, there are four types of scars that can be managed. The type of scars include burn scars, keloid scars (an overproduction of collagen as the wound heals), hypertrophic scars (thick, raised scars), or facial scars (typically caused by acne). Once the type of scar is evaluated, the proper procedure can be selected. Many scars can only be reduced, but not completely removed.
