The AspireAssist system is available in Europe and the USA, and recently in Australia, Canada and Israel. It has received approval for use in people with BMI higher BMIs. More specifically, it's suitable for patients with BMIs of 35–65 kg/m2 in Europe and Australia and for patients with BMI of 35–55 kg/m2 in the USA and Canada.

It's a safe method with no side effects and suitable for long-term use, compared to other bariatric therapies. The device can be easily removed in a simple endoscopic procedure. The system comprises a transdermal endoscopic gastrostomy tube (A-Tube™) and an external detachable device that promotes the drainage. The aspiration process after each meal lasts about 10 minutes. This treatment offers a practical alternative therapeutic option to bariatric surgery for people who aren't eligible or don't wish to have bariatric surgery.
